Plastic Logic Reader

plasticlogicreader.jpgA new, yet to be named, device was introduced publicly today by Plastic Logic. The device is an electronic reader similar to the Amazon’s Kindle and Sony’s eReader. The screen is larger than those devices, roughly the size of a letter size piece of paper. Its larger screen would appear to make it ideal for reading newspapers. The device features a wireless connection for downloading content, though it is unclear if this is to be Wi-Fi, 3G, or something else. The device will be black and white although the company plans to introduce a color device by 2010.

Logitech V450 Nano Cordless Laser Mouse

This mouse caught my eye. The V450 Nano mouse is travel sized so it’s great for carrying with you. It comes in your choice of black, red or a metallic gray. Nice grippy rubberized sides. An accurate laser pointer. Most interestingly, it is cordless, but instead of using one of those typical USB dongles that stick out of the port, it uses a dongle that is barely larger than the typical USB male connector. I can’t begin to tell you what a fantastic idea this is. I have seen alot of those large dongles get damaged (and damage laptops) when people forget to remove them before throwing them in a laptop bag. Great job Logitech!

Just saw this credenza over at Design Within Reach. The use of tambour doors is attractive. And, at only $4000, it’s quite a deal.
